About the role

JOIN US AT THE ADECCO GROUP! We are looking for someone who will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our organisation’s commitment to privacy and data protection. Are you a dedicated professional, wanting to lead our privacy efforts and ensure compliance with regulations is met, whilst fostering a culture of data privacy excellence?

Salary: c£65k

Location: London based but flexible working from home.

As our Local Privacy Lead, you will be working alongside our UK Legal and Compliance teams as the main point of contact for all Data Protection queries within the business.

What you'll be doing
  • Create, in consultation with Business leads, and publish local privacy policies procedures notices and guidelines following their review and approval by the Group Privacy Office.
  • Liaise with the local DPA where necessary, e.g., in the case of a breach, (note if the issue is Group or enterprise-wide there would be escalation to the DPO, via the Group Privacy Office, to liaise as necessary and appropriate.)
  • Review and approve local policy exemption grants.
  • Assist with conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments and other risk assessment activity as needed.
  • Conduct/Coordinate local training to relevant business units on privacy requirements.
  • Support review /negotiation of data protection related legal agreements (as needed).
  • Identify changes and input changes into One Trust.
  • Carry out periodic reviews to check accuracy of data inventory.
  • Maintain the documents within the local privacy document repository.
  • Maintain documentation of registration/notification of processing to the relevant regulators as required by local laws.
  • Monitor/assure registration/notification to the relevant regulators as required by local laws; Monitor, log and respond to queries on laws, regulations, working with other local privacy leads in the Adecco Group and privacy ambassadors as required.
  • Maintain content on privacy intranet site to provide proactive guides on key privacy topics.
  • Gather information to enable the Group Privacy Office to co-ordinate and respond to customers, relating to internal compliance activities.
  • Create and publish guidance for external local stakeholders relating to internal privacy compliance activities.
  • Provide/Coordinate data for KPI reporting to Group Privacy Office / Adecco Group Global Privacy Officer.
  • Partner with the business to implement and embed privacy-by-design and appropriate risk management principles into products, systems, and processes.
  • Facilitate the execution of cross border data transfers.
  • Attend risk and compliance committees as appropriate.
  • Monitor changes on privacy topic to local laws and regulations.
  • Monitor data privacy compliance and track remediation activities.
  • Manage privacy non-compliance.

About you

You will be someone with either in-house legal experience, coming from a legal advisory role specialising in privacy law or have privacy law knowledge in the UK&I.

Ideally you will be a qualified lawyer.

  • Experience in a similar role, covering data protection matters
  • Experience presenting to board members and senior stakeholders
  • Exceptional communication skills – written, verbal and presentation
  • Attention to detail and the ability to prioritise multiple requests
  • A real team player, resilient, analytical and service oriented.
